Alergens in the Teaching of Natural Science, Biology and Chemistry

The theme of the diploma thesis is allergens in the teaching of natural science, biology and chemistry. The subject and its aim is to find out the presence of allergens in selected classes of natural sciences (natural sciences, biology, chemistry) as well as the level of awareness of problems of allergies and allergens from teachers and pupils of elementary schools and grammar schools and to compare whether teachers of selected subjects take into account Creating climate climate for allergic pupils. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The first part summarizes all theoretical knowledge, including the theme of allergies and allergens. It deals with the concept of allergy from the historical point of view, it characterizes the general importance of allergies and its connection with the immune system, it presents individual risk factors influencing the origin and development of allergic disease. A large part of the theoretical part describes allergic diseases including their manifestations, diagnosis and follow-up treatment, and also the individual types of allergens that are classified according to their effects on the organism. The aim of this diploma thesis was to assess the current knowledge of the pupils of 8th and 9th grades of primary schools about selected chronical non-infectious diseases (known as civilisation diseases). The pupils of rural and urban types of primary schools have taken part in the questionnaire survey. The theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of selected diseases, their causes and prevention. In the practical part, the results of the survey are processed and evaluated.

TITLE: Food allergies and its influence on nutrition of contemporary Czech family AUTHOR: Barbora Vanišová DEPARTMENT: Department of Education SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Eva Marádová, CSc. ABSTRACT: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of food allergies and their effect on the nutrition of contemporary czech family, along with the possibilities how to handle the negative impact that allergies could have on the composition of the diet. The theoretical part predominantly concentrates on the food allergies as a whole, their symptoms, types, prevention, diagnosis and treatment; the practical part uses a questionnaire survey to investigate the condition of allergies in czech families, knowledge of them among families with an allergic member and also in general public, and the attitude to diet in terms of its change in families with allergic members. In the practical part the thesis as well researches, if there is a positive or negative impact of food allergies on the composition of czech families' diet, and evokes possible solutions, how the diversification of the diet considering the food allergies could be attained. The appearance of respiratory disease in cross country skiing

Title: The appearance of respiratory disease in cross country skiing Objectives: Aim of bachelor's thesis is to determine the incidence of respiratory disease in cross country skiers and approach the problem of asthma and its occurrence in cross-country skiers. Another goal is to find treatment in elite cross-country skiers and influence of respiratory disease on the performance of cross-country skiers. Methods: In the thesis was used method to survey and content analysis of documents. Results: We found that eight of the nineteen representatives of the Czech Republic has problems with respiratory illnesses, of which has seven representatives of the Czech Republic asthma, which is 34%. Key words: Cross-country skiing, respiratory diseases, bronchial asthma, exercise- induced asthma, allergies.
Gluten-free diet not only in coeliacs

The theme of this bachelor thesis is a gluten-free diet not only in the medical treatment of the patients withceliac disease. The particular subject of the theoretic part is a description of the gluten-free diet and all other diseases for which treatment this diet therapy is necessary.It also outlines the contemporary trend of eating gluten-free diet. For the practical part, a qualitative research method was chosen. The research group was comprised of 15 respondents who enrolled in record all consumed food within two weeks. Using the program "Nutriservis", the diets were evaluated according to the average values of energy, proteins and dietary fiber, and, subsequently, compared tothe recommended daily figures. The respondents were divided into three groups according to alimentation. The first group was made up of people with a diet without restrictions, the second group of the patients who suffered from celiac disease andthe last group included people observing a gluten-free diet, without them being proven celiac disease or gluten allergy. The groups were also compared to each other. Next, it was analyzed through interviews why the respondents were holding the gluten-free diet, and whether during that timetheir healthwas changed or improved. The research part of the thesis was to chart the quality menu of the gluten-free diet. Comparing to the non-restricted diet, research has not reached large differences between the particular groups of respondents. The biggest problem of all groups was low fiber intake. From the interviews, investigating why the respondents observed the gluten-free diet and whether it had any positive effect, emerged different responses. For the problem of atopic eczema and migraine compliance, the gluten-free diet has proven a good effect. On the contrary, it is the problem with constipation or digestive problems. In one case, the respondent was convinced about the harmful effect of gluten and therefore had 15 months consumed only gluten-free food. Afterwards he felt less tired than before and, moreover, he should have reduced his weight by 4 kg.
